Bottineau Boulevard (County Road 81) is an important corridor supporting local and regional
economic development and servicing Hennepin county commuters. Increasing traffic
volumes, growth and development, and congestion along the corridor threaten the
ability of Bottineau Boulevard to deliver safe and efficient transportation service
to its users.
Reconstruction of Bottineau Boulevard will occur in segments. The Robbinsdale segment
was completed in 2008. In summer 2011, MnDOT completed the reconstruction of the
Bottineau Boulevard/85th Avenue Interchange with US Highway 169. Hennepin County will complete
reconstruction of the roadway between Trunk Highway 100 and County Road 10 (Bass Lake Road) in Crystal
in 2012, and will begin reconstruction of the segment of roadway from County Road 10 and 63rd
Avenue in 2013.
